I run 2xXeon E5530 16GB ram on XP64sp2

several simple scene rendered in MR and batchrender
render.exe -r mr -v 5 -proj C:\.. -s 2 -e 2 -rfs 1 c:\… scene.mb

render fail due to out of memory

same scenes on
Q6600 = all ok - render fine 1.3gb ram usage no peek in memory
Xeon 5420 = all ok but peek in memory 7gb - after it go back to 1,3gb
Xeon 5520 no HT = all ok but peek in memory 7 gb - after it go back to 1,3gb

Xeon 5520 + HyperThreading = peek in memory and maya die @ 20GB ram usage

the problem is not the scene and not mental ray
it is reproduce able on 70PC! all time

as soon HT is active + batch render it fail to render

Looks like a significant issue - hope a techy here can shed some light on this one…

Simple. Turn off hyperthreading. It offers no performance benefits to mental ray anyway.

even if I turn off HT some files fail to render
I cant get rid of the peak

i have several different scene with the same problem.

maya 2009 is working normaly

maya 2010 load the scene and render fine the normal way but as soon batchrender is called the memory overflow and maya die away
