Hi,
I resently downloaded the student maya 2012 to my toshiba laptop and when I tried to run it after installation it comes up with the splash screen then freezes with “maya loading” in the bottom corner. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?

Hi! Is your laptop on the qualified hardware list on this web site?
Sounds like it is not if the splash screen is all you get.
Cheers

Maya is a bit particular on what video cards it gets along with, what laptop (model) do you have exactly?

Ah yes, according to these specs (http://uk.computers.toshiba-euro...pt=/jsp/fixup/productPage) your laptop does appear to have the IntelGMA graphics chip, which unfortunately is not supported by Maya.
You can experiment with rolling your graphics drivers back to previous versions, one at a time, (and possibly try dropping your display resolution and/or color depth) but ultimately you’ll need a laptop with a higher-end graphics chip to have a good user experience with Maya.
