This is probably floating around but I can’t seem to find it, so sorry for the repost if it is one. I am running on one of the new MacBook Pro’s and I when I select an edge/vertex/face Maya lags down for about 3-4 seconds every time. After the period of lag I can move and adjust without any lag at all, but for some reason when I try to select a new component Maya lags up. Any suggestions?

Mac, OS 10.6, but I had this problem before updating to 10.6 as well so It isn’t a 10.6 specific issue.

I have such a machine, but I don’t see the delay. What’s the vertex count on the model? If you’re able to provide an example, I could benchmark it here.

It does it with just the normal primitives, a simple 4 vert cube… anything.

I had a similar problem on a PC...it showed up when I upgraded my video card drivers.
I am using a Quadro 3700 and I just needed to go to the driver settings and turn off some of the “optimized” settings.
This was an operating system and a year ago...so don’t remember the settings in particular.
Not sure the MAC graphics card settings layout...but maybe worth a look.

Hope you find out soon.

I think I remember it was the “Overlay” setting...while everything says it is required...It gave me no benefit...just slowed it down.
