Looking to upgrade the home computer so my daughter can run Maya 2010. Looking at HP with Ci7 920, 9 GB Ram and 1.8 GTX 260. It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64, but should I upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64? Looking at the Qual charts, it looks like after XP you needed the Business version of Vista.

Either way make sure you get 64 bit (obvious).

I would go with Pro. It has some good networking things that, for some reason, Home version does not.

Thanks for the info. I see one of the things Pro offers is Windows XP Mode, which is designed to help keep older business softwares working. Any idea if this is a good thing for Maya 2010?
