hey,
I have experienced this on several occasions.
When I render out an exr with no render passes, the RGB data comes out fine. When I start adding a renderpass like AO, the RGB data gets lost somehow. Its not an issue of extracting the right channels from the exr. When I then add a beauty render pass to the exr, the RGB data comes back.
This wouldnt be a problem if it wasnt for the size of the files. When adding the beauty render pass to the exr, the file size get twice as big.
Has anybody had a similar issue??
Attached are three exrs rendered from the same maya file, but with different renderpasses.

i’ve tried experimenting with the different settings etc., but still no luck getting a multichannel exr with the rgb data intact out.
strangely if you force an exr per renderpass, you get the correct rgb data. this does though defeat the purpose of exrs.
