How to "render" a model to the real world?

Since I would need a physical representation of a character-model I created, I was looking for a way to do this (it should also be affordable e.g. something below 30$).

3D printing and Laser engraving (in glass) are rather expensive, but would be quite suitable I think, so something similar would be the thing I am looking for (some kind of (monochrome) projection is ok, too, as long as its real 3D).
