Hi,
Batch render is crashing for me when rendering with mental ray, even for the most basic scene (a static polygon sphere, default light, and perspective camera in its home position). It works fine if I use the maya software renderer.
I’m using Maya 2011 x64 cut ID 201003190347-771506.
My machine is a macbook pro 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB Ram. I know it’s a little inadequate, but it’s not running out of RAM.
I’m using a student license, but I can’t find anything to suggest that should cause the problem.

I hope someone’s seen this before - rendering a sequence seems a little fundamental!
