im currently rendering a 250 frame video, (using 2 computers)

my problem is when i’m rendering it all goes fine and i see the frames being done.

using mental ray as well.

when I suspend the render to shut down the computer and come back to rendering the next day it loses track of all its rendering tasks.

is there some option I missed out that tells it to look at what it has done?? if i suspend the task shut down the manager and reload it. it remember what it has done.

I have a very similar problem of the Task ID not showing up in the Task Summary tab.  My setup for animation workstations and rendernodes are as follows:

Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Maya 3012 SP1 64bit
Backburner 2013.0.2.1590

We submitted a job from Maya 2013 as a Backburner job.  See the 2 attached images.  First is the Job Summary.  Notice the number of tasks completed.  Second is the Task Summary.  Notice how the Task ID only shows the initial task id, but not the subsequent ones.

any ideas?

I had many problems with Backburner myself up until I did some research, it turns out that Maya 2013 and Backburner don’t communicate very well and it isn’t recommended to use Backburner. Try getting hold of an open source render engine for the renders. I’m using the multitude of pc’s I have at my disposal for my project instead, rendering a scene per pc.

I am relatively new to Maya on a mac platform.  I have never used Backburner and am trying to figure out how to set-up a render farm utilizing some of our older Mac pros.  Are you saying that Autodesk does not have a renderfarm solution packaged with Maya?  As I am in a government facility, I do not think using an open-source render engine will be an option.
