I am trying to render out a maya fur on an object, that has been dynamically simulated with nCloth. The fur “strands” them selves are moving wildly and out of control, and often it appears that they are not even coming from the same place. Is there a samples node I am missing? Its hard to explain so Here is a link to a gif, of an area that hardly moves, and two frames next to each other.

I am rendering out of mental ray, using production rapid fur. any help would be Very appreciated!

Are these frames batch rendered on one machine in one session or on a render farm?

think you can bake any deformation to per vertex keyframes with

edit -> keys -> bake simulation

(maybe cache the ncloth first)
