Hi,
There is currently an issue where Shave and a Haircut fur will not inherit the motion blur settings from Renderman Studio correctly. When I enable motion blur in RMS and tell Shave to “inherit settings” from “RfM Studio” in the Shave/Globals/Renderman menu, the fur/hair gets motion blurred, but ends up in the wrong place. For example, the fur will look as though it is not attached to the geometry.
Has anyone experienced and solved this issue? If so, how?
Thanks,
Michael

You’ll probably want to poke around in the Renderman forums on that one…

Joe just sent me a workaround for getting motion blur to work with Shave and RMS.
I just tested it and it seems to work very well. Here’s what you do:
Go to Shave>Globals>Renderman
Set “inherit settings” to “Off”
Check the “enable motion blur” box
Set “Shutter Times Are” to Relative
Set “Shutter Open Offset” to 0
Set “Shutter Close Offset” to 1
Go to Renderman Globals>Features
Check the Enable Motion blur box
Set “Shutter Opening” to 0,1
Set “Shutter Timing” to “Frame Open”
Set “Motion Blur Type” to “Frame”
Set “Shutter Angle” to whatever number you want.
