If this belongs in the lighting and rendering section, sorry, but this is more of a technical issue I’m having with one scene.

I recieved this scene from someone else, I have particles and fluids to render.
The particles render just fine in render view and batch rendering
the fluids render in render view but they do not show up in batch rendering

as far as i can tell, this is only just one scene…
can anyone shed some light on how to fix this?

Bump.

I am sure others have experienced this issue as well.  If anyone out there has an answer, please let me know.
Also, if I am not posting enough information, please let me know.  I will post info about the scene as requested.

The issue is Maya Fluids will not batch render even though they render in the render view.  This is Maya 2012 using Mental Ray.

Not much info to go on here…

Getting any error messages in the script editor?
Can you post your renderlog?
Can you post the scene file(s)?

hi
Thank you for your reply

EDIT:  Ok I’ll have to include a link, the file isn’t attaching
I’ll update it in a little bit

I don’t have the render log anymore because I bought a new hard drive and reinstalled everything
no errors in the script editor or anywhere that I could see

...so render again on the new harddrive - and grab the renderlog
=)

Also - to attach your Maya scene, it will need to be zipped.

I must apologize for my lateness but here is the scene file and the maya render log

now for the scene file, you’ll have to animate a field to interact with the ground particles because I have setup a collision event, my original file has all the cached data but it was too large to pass through, I have those zipped up but its a 2 gig zip file

the ground particles die and create new particles for the dirt, the dirt also creates a dirt cloud (the fluid container) and thats basically it

I should of asked earlier - what rendering engine are you using?

I did notice off the bat - you appear to be using render layers - and I wasn’t able to see anything in the render till I selected your “Master” layer… May be an issue here - but I’ll have to dig a bit deeper…

I am using Mental Ray with final gathering

oh you won’t see anything until you play the animation, the particles are on one layer and the fluids are on another, I didn’t include the cache though so it’ll be a little wierd working with them unless you recreate everything in that file
