Hello helpful user community,

I’m trying to find information about mia_material_x_passes in Maya 2010. How is it different from mia_material_x? Can’t we still use Render Passes with mia_material_x? What benefits, if any, does mia_material_x_passes offer?

Thank you,

Aaron

Converting from mia_material_x to mia_material_x_passes adds these Frame Buffer Contribution attributes.

miFrameBufferWriteOperation
miFrameBufferWriteFlags
miFrameBufferWriteFactor

Hi, what do these attributes do that can’t be done with mia_material_x?
