Hardware Texturing problem

Hi,

I’m fairly new to Maya and I’m having a problem with hardware texturing. I’m currently going through some Lynda.com tutorials. I’m on Chapter 2_Lesson 10: Blocking Out a Character Body. The tutorial is showing how to build a character up from 2D reference planes with a bitmap mapped onto them. I’m not seeing the bitmaps on the planes at all. I’ve checked the materials folder where things are supposed to be and everything is there. I hit the “6” key and I get nothing but white planes.



I’m an illustrator and animator.
