hi,
i was working on a beer simulation where the beer pops out of the bottle.. so i am done with the simulation but now i am stuck with the beer foam shader, i did the simulation in real flow and have imported the generated mesh. It would be very helpful if someone can give me some idea on how to go abt it.. I tried using simple maya fast shader, but no success, not getting those bubbles kinda thing which u find in the foam.. Pls help.

Thanks,
Chetan

Ultimately it would depend on the geometry that was output from your simulation. If its a ton of bubbles then you would shade it on a micro level (taking into consideration the expense of such calculations) if its a solid piece of geometry then you would go about it a different way.

Either way I would probably use the miaX and use the attributes to good effect to simulate the look.
But really it comes down to the geo and implementation.

If you go to the mental images website and then go to Mental Ray as a product there should be a “documentation” option when that page loads on the right hand side is the miaX documentation file in pdf format.

Its in the maya help docs as well, but im currently unsure how to access it off hand.
