I’m trying to make a surface of an object look like a stainless steel and reflective, too.
Something like a shiny stainless steel table that shines and make everything on top of reflect on it. (maybe like a mirror, or a very shiny floor)
Thank you.

Hi,
That’s pretty simple… :D

1-assign the mental ray renderer
2- open the material toolbar “M”
3-select an empty slot and click on “Standard” then search for the word “Pro materials: Metal”
4-from the materials settings...set “Type” as “Stainless steel.

I hope this helps :D

Do you plan to render in MayaSoftware or MentalRay?

You then need to decide what material it is your trying to make.
Stainless steel, mirror, and shiny floor are 3 different materials…
