When I’m using High quality textures it seems that they’re high quality for nothing. When I render they seem to be like 512x512 when they’re really 2048x2048. How can I fix this?

are you scaling the textures too big in maya?
efficiently using your UV space?

And maybe try to turn off the filtering in the file-nodes.

Here’s an image I rendered. I know that the problem is with the texture filtering but I don’t know how to tweak it in mental ray

select your file-node in the hypershade and you’ll see the pre-filtering options in the attribute editor
