Hello,

I am using a mental ray material with ‘mia_roundcorners’ applied to the bump channel.  It works great on simple nurbs cubes.  But on my nurbs geometry, the result is the opposite of what I want.  The beveled edge is like an “inner bevel” instead of an “outer bevel” The attached image shows what I mean....  for lack of a better term, it looks as if the rounded edge effect has been turned inside out.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have tried all the settings on ‘mia_roundcorners’ to no avail.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Have you checked to see which way your normals are facing?

Thank you!

The solution was
1. Display - NURBS - Show Normals (Shaded)
2. Edit NURBS - Reverse Surface Direction

...I am not sure why, but if I skipped step 1 and just reversed the surface direction, nothing changed.  It only works if I have normals display on.

But that totally solved the problem.  Thank you!

Mike
