Maya 2011 Mental Ray Vieport Black out

Hello,

my objects are black in the view port when I use MR. How can I fix this?

Try selecting your material, and in the attribute editor, scroll down to ‘hardware texturing’ and change it from ‘none’ to ‘diffuse’ or ‘combined’.

I see you are in ‘High Quality’ mode.  mental ray materials will show as black in the viewport if you are in High Quality mode.  The only way to see the textures in the viewport when you’re using mental ray materials is to be in ‘Default Quality’.

I would love for this to be fixed sometime...SOON!
