Maya normal map and render edge problem

Hi,

I’dd like to know how you play around with your normal map intensity in Maya.

When I put tangent space (which I should) the color alpha gain or the bump depth don’t do anything which is not the case when you leave it to bump.

Also when I render I always get pixels around the edge of the character that are very bright.
I use mental ray with FG, maybe I’m supposed to check something?
