Hi all,
In my class project that I was working on based on a photograph of a building as shown in my attached file here, after doing my model of the building in maya, initially, I did the color matching of my model with the photograph manually, but I later decided to make adjustments of the colors on my model to better reflect the color on the photograph through RBG inputs, so I got the closest RGB values of the colors in the photographs of the various parts of the building and try to apply it on my model by adjusting the RGB values on my model, but I just keep getting some very odd colors from my RGB values entries in maya.
I just wonder why I can’t match my model’s color with the RGB samples I got from photoshop to better look like the image in the photograph.

Please see attached files and their titles as guides to better understand my questions for better answers.

Thanks and hope you can help.

Obi1.

Obi,
The big thing when trying match a color exactly is to make sure you have your final lighting setup, as the color/quality of your light can completely change the look of your colors.
Since you just posted viewport shots I will just add, to make sure that you are rendering your building, as the viewport is not a true representation of the final colors.

The last thing that may help, based on your posted images, is to change the setting on your Color Chooser from [0 to 1] to [0 to 255]...depending on the range of your numbers.
You had entered 120, 36, 77 and you got white because your range was still set to [0 to 1]

Matching colors is all about your eyes and the color calabration of your monitor...so it will be a constant struggle. Just keep rendering and tweaking...and have fun.
