Hi guys,

I really need your help. I am now dealing with Maya 2008. When I am trying to import some free models (.3DS)(from http://www.creative-3d.net/free3D.cfm) into Maya 2008, it works well but no any texture on it. (see attached picture)

Could you guys know how to solve this problem? pls help me out.
Thanks so much,

Joy

The .3ds file format does not contain any texture map information other than the UVmapping.
Looking at the website, most likely they used some procedural materials in Max - which you will have to rebuild from scratch in Maya.
