Hi,
When I use a transparency map on an object such as a leaf, I always get white edges around the object, and they increase in size as they get farther from the camera. I have attached a close up image of some hedge leaves. You can see that the white outline is increasing as the leaves get farther from the camera, I’m guessing this is because of sampling and resolution.
The leaf material is a PSD file, the transparency uses the alpha of the whole file, not just one layer. This happens with any file type however, I have just read that the PSD file will not premultiply the alpha, but the problem happens anyway.
Thanks in advance,
Justin

Have you tried turning off the “Premultiply” option in the render settings? Your maya output will look very aliased, but your alpha will premultiply against your background in post.
