| Beginner..... problem occuring when selecting a face on a polygon
|
|
|
Ok, so here is what I am doing. I have a figure I am modeling and at one point I am extruding faces to make an ear. Problem is, that after I have the ear created, I can’t click on a face without adjacent vertices being selected. This is causing unnecessary vertices to move around when I need to move the vertices that are part of the face.
Does anyone know if there is a way to deselect vertices after you click on a face? I don’t know what else the problem could be.

Hello,
If you take a look at the attached image: does that look like your problem? If so, take a look at your tool settings and uncheck soft select. A quick alternative is to just hit “B”. A handy tip for increasing your soft selection size is to hold “B” and LMB drag.
Hope that helps. If not, post a screen shot of your problem so we can get a closer look.
Kind regards,
Rooftop

Ah, ok, I think it’s your reflection that’s turned on.
It can be turned off in the same tool panel or if you hold Ctrl+Shift+RMB, you’ll get the marking menu, and reflection and it’s options will be at the top.
Give that a go, I think it will solve your problem.
