I’m using Maya 2009 and I’m in the UV Texture Editor, trying to manipulate UV’s. When I select the object in the editor and go to UV, select the UV, and then right click and hold, it doesn’t give me the usual menu to select ‘To Shell’ and other similar options. Is there some setting somewhere that would restrict the appearance of this menu?

When you right-click, go to ‘select-select shell’…
You can also navigate the same menu thru the ‘select’ at the top of the UVEditor window.

Back in Maya 8, if you had the UV selected and right clicked and held, then the new menu (including To Shell) would appear. Was this removed at some point? It seems like a step backward to have to go through that other menu option.

I think you will find what you are looking for if you hold down CTRL + RMB.
This gives you the selection conversion options.
To Shell is there...just have at lease one vert, UV, face or edge selected on the shell you want.

While it is not a Shell selection mode (don’t know if there is one)...this is a little faster than having to go into any menus.

All the best.

Thanks Ben, I think that’s what I’m looking for. I’ll try it out when I get home. I tried to shift + right click and there was a little different menu that came up, so Ctrl might just do it for me.
