I’m very new to Maya and everything I know about it is due to youtube videos or the INTRODUCING AUTODESK MAYA 2012 I bought.

I can’t seem to find my EDIT MESH tab anywhere, does anyone have any idea what might’ve happened to it? I was practicing on making a hand when I think I hit a wrong button and it disappeared.

Switch to the “Polygons” mode first: you have a drop-down menu at the top left corner, or press “H” + left click in the viewport and select “Polygons” in the marking menu.
Then you will see that most of your menus have changed, for modelling purposes I think that you might find what you are looking for under the “Mesh” and “Edit Mesh” menus.
I hope this will help.

This was very helpful thank you. Was going crazy looking online fore the solution. I have not started my class yet but still learning as much as possible, had the 32bit on my tower pc and it had allot of trouble running maya. So i got the m14x laptop and installed the 64bit just to find the things i familiarized my self with were not there. Just wanted to say thanks again.
