Hello Everybody.

I’m new to Maya and I need little help.

I’m trying to model a cable. I do it with cylinder and EP Curve. I want to set an object motion and Object Flow Path.

I fallow also tutorial but still getting weird result.

My cylinder doesnt fallow the curve along. See attached img.

I set my motion object to normal...also the axis are set so the cylinder moves along curve on time slider good. But when I set Flow Path (latice) the object fallows the curve just with other end.

I dont know what to set next..Please help.

Thank you!.

how many subdivisions (height) do you have on the cylinder?

I have around 200-300 subdivisions..

I did that according to one Tutorial. Dont know why is not working. I create cylinder(200subdivisions)..pleaced it at the beginning of the curve. Then added motion object...sett normal ..

Than flow path object.....

On the time line it fallowed nicely. Timing its 0-100

I have now 400 subdivisions.

I dont know how I can attach here one more picture..but if you give me your email I send you a picture how the cylinder behaves on the curve.

a colleague has just shown me a far simpler way do doing this.

simply select the face you want to extrude out, shift-select the curve and use edit mesh -> extrude (polygons menu)!

you can then increase the divisions on the polyExtrudeFace node on the object :)
