hi!

Here is a little part from a skinned model.

http://samavan.com/ModelBroken.ma

(This is a Maya 2009 file)

The model will show the wireframe when the wireframe mode is ON or OFF.

This is very strange because when the wireframe mode is OFF, the wireframe appears and this is the same render when you have lamina faces (2 faces sharing the same vertex).
Also the wireframe option on the object attribut is OFF too…

When I destroyed the skin and combine the model with a simple cube, the wireframe desappears…
But if I could find a solution and save 4h of work.... Skin is not really enjoyable time with a 5k poly model, isn’t it?

But the model look clean etc… and is working very well is game when exporting.
There are no lamina face and you can count yourself the polygons on this little stuck.

The problem is this is very difficult to work the animation while the wireframe is actived…

Could someone try it?

Thank you by advance if you find a solution…

I think you messed up the smooth display by reducing the Preview Division Levels to 0 from their default of 2. What you’re seeing is the cage of a smooth mesh that has no smoothing, not the wireframe. Set Preview Division Levels back to 2, then go through the 1, 2 ,3 hotkeys to see the normal behavior of the smooth mesh.

yoh yes you have right… after switching several with the hotkeys 1,2 and 3 I successed to make disappear this fake “wireframe” !
My first time!

Thanks a lot!
