Hey Area! Im modeling this strange looking chair and I have run into a few problems. I want the inside area to look like its made of fabric, but i would also like it to look cushioned. I was wondering how i should go about doing so. Here is an image of my model in several views. I have made the inside a bit more round so that it looks more comfortable, but i still dont know how to go about making it look cushioned. I tried to extrude selected faces, but it just doesnt come out right.
Any suggestions?

When you say extruded face doesn’t look correct…
did you see the option in Edit Mesh menu...keep faces together.
Ibet that will help if unchecked (no check mark)
Extrude the faces, then scale them a little, hit 3 to see smoothed version.

If its ok for you to use a separate model for the cushion in the seat, better create a subdiv square.

see the attached images for more clear understanding.. Refine the detail as you go on moulding it.

Umm, I just applied a blinn for the final one so that the ups and downs are clear… Use a nice material to make it look more cushion-like..

Yes, the current faces in the geometry still dont look right even with the keep faces together off.

Thank you very much for the tutorial, i’ll defiantly give it a try, but its a bit difficult because i would like the current shape of the chair (the inside that is) to have a cushioned look, not so much as to add cushions to it. I was wondering if you could help with that.
