How to create cloth (shirt) for a model in Maya?

hello, i am learning maya on my own, have done with modeling an human anatomy now i need to know how to put clothes to that model. i referred many sites but i am not getting any good response can any one help with some reference sites or books.

A good technique is to use the duplicate faces option to make clothing mesh. You can then extrude back a little to create thickness, reverse normals, woila.
