I have a STEP file I imported that’s giving me some bad surfaces.  When I select the surface, the selection line shows the correct shape, but the actual material is very different.  This makes my model look like it has holes in it.  Is there a way to repair the surfaces that have these holes?  I’ve included pictures showing the problem.

Thanks in advance!

Nikki

The parameterization of your surfaces don’t match…
You’ll need to get familiar with the ‘rebuild surfaces’ tool.

I was using Maya software to render, which was giving me those errors.  The Autodesk help guys told me to use mental ray and now it works!
