| Insert Edge Loop Tool 2013, not sliding
|
|
|
I was trained in Maya 2008, and recently made the leap to Maya 2013.
When I try to use the Insert Edge Loop Tool, it seems to only select an existing edge loop, and will not allow me to slide along an edge to place the new one. I have even tried to use the Insert Edge Loop Tool on a simple polygon cube, to make sure this isn’t a complex mesh issue.
My apologies if this is a newbie-like problem. I have been out of the game for a couple of years.
Thank you.

without seeing exactly what you’re doing it’s a tough one to answer - my suggestion would be to go into the edge loop options and re-set them. This is not the way the tool is supposed to work.
Frequently, when Maya “misbehaves” like this, the only solution that works is to save your work, exit Maya, delete your userPrefs.mel file and re-start Maya with a default set of prefs.

Ugh! I’m a little embarrassed. I messed with the prefs, but never thought to reset them to default! My issue is resolved! Thank you Halfstone!
