I have just started learning Maya been having a problem, and was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction.  I was working on a scene and added several nurbs and they are displayed correctly. However, when I create any new nurbs, for some reason the makeNurbSphere (or whatever the nurb primative shape is) node tab is not displayed anymore in the Attribute Editor. It still shows up on all previous nurbs but any new ones do not have this node. I have gone into Show - by node type and made sure that makeNurbSphere is checked. It still doesn’t help. Did I accidentally do something to create a preset for new nurbs to be missing this node tab? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

There’s a difference between a “shape” node and a “make” node.  The former should not be missing; it’s all the underlying information about your object.  In the case of NURBS it’s the number of spans, the subdivision, the surface parameterization, the display, the tesselation, etc.

The “make” node, which you referred to, is the construction history of the object which can (and usually should) be deleted at some point in your workflow.  You also have the option of turning this off - so that objects are created without history.  Check out the picture I’ve uploaded - look at your screen.  That icon will turn on or off your construction history.  My bet is you turned it off.

That was the problem.  Thank you!
