Modeling Workflow (Hypershade)?

Hi,

I am currently trying to set up(model and texture) a scene that I will use for animation. On my first go around, I modeled everything within the scene and it seemed to get bogged down. Would a better alternative be to model everything separately and then import it into the scene file before i animate??

Also, if i modeled and textured an object in a separate maya file, would the object lose its hypershade and uv attributes after i imported into my final scene??

Hi there,

Yes, modelling each object in a different scene is best.  If you import an object from another scene, it will retain it’s UV information.

If you think that you may change an object in the future, you should reference your files instead. File> Reference>choose file That way, if you change your reference file in anyway and reload it in your scene, it will be updated.

Rooftop, just seeing this. Thanks for the reply. I am just learning how to reference files and it is extremely helpful.
