I have selected all the edges that need to be connected but when i click bridge all the edges become deselected and nothing happens. Does anyone have any ideas?

Do you get any error message down in the command line when you try it?

Bit hard to tell from the pic - but do you have the same number of edges on each object?
Did you combine your 2 objects? (Needs to be one mesh ‘before’ you can bridge).

No error messages. The two sides contain the same number edges and are combined.

I found the answer. It was an unmerged vertex hiding underneath another. Thank you for your help.
