Hello guys and gals. I’m new here, so I’m hoping this post is in the right spot.

The image shows what my problem is. I can’t select faces unless I go inside the object, but the normals point outwards, and I have double edges and verts that merge won’t fix. I run into this problem often, and have never been able to fix it besides rebuilding the obj, which I’m sick of doing.

There has to be something i can do.. no? Any ideas would be really helpful. Thanks.

Hi Digital3ds, did you try Mesh > Cleanup? This might’ve happened when you hit extrude by mistake. Try doing a cleanup for edges with zero length.  Hopefully that should fix it.

The part of the geometry you have on screen seems fairly simple. If all else fails, insert an edge loop near the end, select all faces till this loop and hit Mesh > Extract. Select the open border edge, fill hole and redraw the edges. Then discard the problematic end piece. Good luck!
