sidvfx,
i took a look at your file and found the two cubes had been combined into one...there was also no
history on either cube, so I couldn’t really make changes to your working file.
I separated the cubes and applied the transfer...but as you will see all is not perfect.
I left the history on the cube so that you will see how the texture changes depending on the position of the cube. To lock it down just delete history (Shift+Alt+d)

I had to move the destination cube on top of the source one to get a transfer.
I often find I need to apply the transfer and undo it until I find the best option.
I think the problem in this case is that the geometry of the two cubes is actually a bit different and therefore the UV’s would be different as well.

In a case where you are duplicating something, it is best to layout the UVs and then duplicate it.

One last thought, I noticed that you were using high quality display to better see the texture.
Take a look at the lambert on the cubes and look at the Hardware Texturing tab.
You can turn up the texture display resolution there so that you don’t need to us High Quality rendering .
All the best.
~Ben
