Is there a way to export 3D model from Maya to SolidWorks (I need a Parasolid file) or AutoCad ???
Can i use polygon mesh for that ?
And if yes can i model with both Nurbs & Polygons ???
Do the model have to be one piece or can be of several pieces ?

Thanks !

Yes, yes, yes, no. Use IGES. Load the Iges plug-in that ships with Maya.

IGES file consists of lines (curves) only, it is not helpful to me ... I need also faces too! I need to export 3d model to PARASOLID file or to ( SLDPRT, STEP, STP, PDF ) files to make a real 3D model !

But Maya does not have such export plug-ins (also 3D Max)

hm ....!

I think your Maya objects have to be NURBS for export to SolidWorks (since SolidWorks is a parametric based program).

I know SolidWorks has NURBS !

But I need more plug-ins for Maya (3D Max) to export my 3D objects to PARASOLID, STEP, IGES files or AUTOCAD - DWG file !!! For, to make a real object from !my !3D model !

IGES files can be used for curves, NURBS surfaces an polygonal meshes. IGES terminology for those entities is B-Spline Curve, B-Spline Surface and Polymesh. There is no support for Maya’s subdivision surfaces.
