Hi,
I am a premium subscriber who is having a difficult time installing Turtle with my new Maya 2012 suite.
The 2012 installer tells me that I ‘have a newer version already installed’, which of course, I don’t! I still have my 2011.5 Subscribers Advantage Pack installed and that has a functioning, older version of Turtle. Thinking this might be the problem, I tried uninstalling Maya 2011.5 and Turtle (which is called Maya Plug-In by the Win 7 control panel uninstaller) and ran the 2012 setup again. The same message (’have a newer version already installed’) appeared again in the 2012 installer even though I didn’t have Turtle installed at all.
I also tried to install it on its own by going into my C:\Autodesk\Maya_Entertainment_Creation_Suite_Premium_2012_English_
Japanese_64bit\x64\Turtle folder where the setup files were initially extracted. I ran TurtlePremium2012.msi on its own but the installer hangs and I get a ‘Error 1606. Could not access network location bin.’
Haven’t been able to solve this one yet - anyone have a similar issue or know of a workaround?
Update:
I managed to use a program called Universal Extractor to get the Turtle files out and into their proper place. Maya 2012 loads the plugin up to the point it looks for a license, then I get a message in the Output Window:
// Error: This copy of Turtle does not have a valid license! //
// Error: Please contact support for more information. //
// Error: initializePlugin function failed (Turtle) //
Where does Turtle look for a working license? If anyone knows anything about fixing this part of the issue I should be home free. Thanks in advance,
-NB
