So if you look at a skeleton, our knees are positioned inwards from our hips. its not a straight line. When it comes to rigging. if your hip>knee>ankle setup isn’t done in a perfectly straight line (in the front view. side view is ok to put the bend of the knee)then the joints don’t behave properly. even with a pole vector on it. if you want to curl your characters legs up the knee flips out. I’ll demonstrate in the screenshot.
is there a way to fix this? I know I can just make all my leg chains straight, but some characters will call for more bended leg bones....
and the pole vector curves dont help. I have to send it way out into space to get the knee back to its right position.

seems that its not the curvature that is the problem. I just needed to have a double knee.
