Mesh detaching from rig when loading and rendering

I have a mesh that is detaching from its rig when I load the scene for the first time.  Reloading appears to fix the problem but the mesh detaches again during batch rendering (but not during single frame renders).  I’ve tried detaching and reskinning, importing into a new scene, optimizing the scene, and deleting history.  None of these things seem to fix it. If you have any clue what is causing this please let me know.
