I am trying to parent finger joints to a wrist by doing the following.

I am selecting the finger joints, and then shift selecting the wrist. After they are selected, I go to Constraint/Parent. I am getting this error message.
// Error: Could not add constraint or connections.

I have attached screenshots of my Parent Constraint Settings and workspace.
Thank you for any help you may offer.

does the translate or rotate fields of the finger joint have any other connections and are they unlocked?

Besides having no idea why he would want to do that instead of just parenting the joints, along with your question about what else might already be hooked up, it would appear he is trying to constrain the wrist to the thumb.

Constraints have to be selected in “driver, driven” order, in this case meaning the thumb would be selected after the wrist. I can see by the highlight colors in his screenshot that the wrist was the last item selected.
