Since Autodesk is a publicly traded company, there are certain laws that govern what information they can share. They are not allowed to comment on rumors or speculation, so we won’t hear anything until 2013 is ‘officially’ announced through proper channels.
In the past, they’ve released Maya on a 1-year cycle, hence Maya 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. If you look at the past releases - the news typically hits the web around the March timeframe.

My Autodesk reseller told me recently that new versions are usually announced before the NAB show in April.
