Ok,now let’s get something straight here:

-----------------------------------------

First of all:

- Maya has a realtime hardware renderer built in.It can even display normalmaps in realtime.

- Maya has an intergrated scripting language , MEL and also expressions scripting and Python
scripting.

- Maya has particles (also in the form of sprites) that can be displayed in realtime.
Also with the hardware renderer.

- Maya comes with the Maya API with support for Python and C++ .

So technically, don’t you think that Maya could be considered as a full featured game engine by
itself ?
And could it be possible to create a whole game with the Maya API ( C++ or Python) ?
You know,a standalone application (.exe) that you can double-click on and then play it.

-----------------------------------------

Secondly:

Do you think that Autodesk is planning some kind of revolutionary game engine with Maya and or
3D Studio Max and Softimage ?
In the “latest news section” on the Autodesk website,it is clearly stated that with the acquisition
of Softimage,Autodesk wants to strenghten it’s leading role in the gaming market and develop stronger
and better gaming tools.

-----------------------------------------

Third:

It would be nice if someone from Autodesk would react on this post and tell us if they are planning
something like that (revolutionary game engine) for the gaming industry.
This would really give Autodesk users something to strongly hope for,for the future.
And surely it will boost people their will to use Autodesk products over and over again, instead of
breaking their heads about the competition and their products.
