Does anybody think this can be implemented within Maya?? sounds cool if it speeds things up that much. What about with Quadro cards that are openGL optimized?

Yeah be interesting to know if it can be implemented. I also wonder what version of OpenGL Maya’s viewport is written in, OpenGL 3.1 was just released, and 3.0 only six months ago. Might be speed benefits going with a rewrite in OpenGL 3.1. Some other cool technologies are CUDA, to take advantage of graphic cards for traditional CPU tasks, in a cross platform seamless was. QT for interface seems to be a trend (mudbox , realflow, and I guess more...), to cut down iteration/build time when working with cross platform applications.
Bring on Maya with all of them: CUDA, OpenGL 3.1 viewport, Bindless Graphics, QT interface, oh Multicore everything that benefits
Wouldn’t mind Mental Mill like in 3DMax 2010
Now that’s a lofty wishlist
