Question: Do you think the directx import/export tool in Maya is:

Very important. Please make it faster you can.

Important. I can need that some day.

Not important. I dont need that.

Not important at all. I will never make use of that.

A directx importer/exporter to .x is the feature most wanted for all maya users who make independent games with low cost game engines. I think its not a hard thing for Autodesk to develop, but it will make a millions of users very happy. Please, include this feature in the next update. I really dont want to have to use Blender.

I do agree. A directx exporter would be much appreciated. I am also constrained on using blender and i am not to happy about this.

I agree,

I’m independent game developer and a direct x exporter for Maya for Mac and PC would be very useful, i’m curently using several workarounds to this problem which is both time consuming and costly for our studio. I’m sure that this would not be difficult for Autodesk to develop.

I’ve written one in Python.  I’ll post it at the beginning of January.
