Time elapsed, time remaining, ram use, number of polys, gamma etc. can be show in the render view (and also Maya freeze during a render). Do animation render in the render view.
PS : Modo have awesome shaders and HDRI presets and do render so fast. :o

The “Insert Edge Loop Tool” can only be used in the marking menu when we are in object mode.
I suggest to insert it during the edge editing and move the “Delete Edge” and the “Paint Select Edges”.
