I think a media player pane would be an awesome addition to Maya, especially for students. Why? Well, I’m a student at the Academy of Art University and their computer labs only have single-monitor configurations! Imagine trying to watch a training video while trying to follow along! It’s quite tedious!
Additionally, I think the following features *within* said media player pane would be beneficial:

Ability to mark segments and have the video stop at those marks or loop the previous segment automatically until you stop or skip to the next segment.

A setting to specify the number of seconds it will wait before looping the segment.

Can you imagine? How much easier it would be to follow along to tutorial videos if we could just have segments automatically looping for us as we try and figure out how to do it in Maya?
Well, I can!
