When new versions of Maya come out, the default settings on some operations are changed.  For those of us who have some years of experience using the software and a particular workflow, this it’s a real pain to have to stop work, find the settings, change them to our liking, then go back to work.  When the userPrefs file gets corrupt and has to be deleted, we have to go through this process again.  The “interactive creation” of primitives and the “Preselection highlight” are two examples of these minor changes with huge PIA factors.  Please leave the defaults alone, and introduce new features in the “What’s New” docs.
