It’s interesting to know - does developers read this forum and really use topics for Maya improvement…

But for now - most obvious things

SNAPPING SYSTEM
Would be great to have more object snap modes:
Midpoint for edges
Center for faces or group of selected faces
Intersection for curves and lines
Perpendicular for edges, faces, curves and lines
Nearest for edges and faces
Parallel for edges, faces, curves and lines
At large, 3ds max implementation is what I mean.

HEADS UP DISPLAY FOR
Curves components - Control vertices, Curve points, Edit points, Hulls, Degree
NURBS components - Control vertices, Isoparms, Hulls, Surface UV’s, Surface points, Surface Patches
Subdivisions components - Verteces, Edges, Faces, UV’s
Lattices components - Lattice points, Lattice edges, Lattice faces
It’s madly annoying always to switch in wireframe mode and count how many vertices are selected. Nonsense!

LATTICE EDGE AND FACE COMPONENTS
It will be more convenient and efficient if Lattice Deformer would have not only point component, but also edge, face and multi components (like in polygons). So instead of selecting 4 points we could select only 1 face.

PARTIAL CREASE SLIDER OR NODE
It would be handy to have Partial crease slider (from base shape to fully creased) for Subdivision Surfaces instead existing rough command.

WINDOW AND CROSSING SELECTION METHODS (like in AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Zbrush...)
Please make difference between selections from left to right and from right to left - now result is equal by working both ways.
Window - (specifying the corners from right to left) - selects all objects completely inside a rectangle.
Crossing - (specifying the corners from left to right) - selects objects within and crossing an area.
