Hello all,

I am really new to Motionbuilder and mocap work so any help would be really appreciated as I am currently working on a student project.

I have a character (made and rigged in Maya and characterized in MB) which seems to be working ok with some of the example mocap data (punch, ice slip etc).

The problem I am having is this. I have some mocap animation data that I have had captured at University but does not seem to work.

The steps I am following are:

1: Open characterized character.

2: Drag .fbx file into viewport, FBX Merge, Name of .FBX file

3: In character controls I then go to Edit>Input

And this is where the problem arises. There is not option (i.e. name of the .fbx file) to input to the character.

If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks for reading this.

Hello Minty. Is your merged FBX characterized too? If not, it’s normal that the Input option is not accessible. You can input animation from the Character control only from Character to Character.
